Inox Wind commissions 800 Mw unit at Madhya Pradesh unit

Company says the plant will be largest in India, providing direct and indirect employment to 5,000 people in the state

Wind energy solutions provider Inox Wind today said it is commissioning a 800 Mw facility at its manufacturing unit in Madhya Pradesh to double production capacity to 1,600 Mw.

"The unit will have an annual production capacity of 400 rotor blade sets and eventually also have an annual capacity of 400 nacelles and hubs, 300 towers and will double Inox Wind's production capacity to 1,600 Mw," Inox Wind said in a BSE filing.

"The manufacturing plant, which will be among the largest in Asia and billed to be the largest in India, will drive investments and economic growth in Madhya Pradesh and provide direct and indirect employment to 5,000 people in the state," it added.
 

"The commissioning of the Madhya Pradesh facility is a significant milestone for Inox Wind... The enhanced capacity will enable the company to maintain its position as the leading manufacturer of wind turbine generators in India," Inox Wind Chief Executive Officer Kailash Tarachandani said.

Shares of Inox Wind were trading at Rs 366.95, up 2.04 per cent, from previous close on BSE.
