Inquiry commission set up to probe Mizoram students deaths

Assam government has constituted a one-man inquiry commission to look into the circumstances leading to the deaths of two students from Mizoram here.

The inquiry committee of principal secretary to higher education department Ajay Shankar Tewari was constituted by a notification of May 29 to probe the deaths of C.Lalhmangaihsanga and R.Lalmalsawma, both students of Down Town University here near a railway track at Panikhaiti on May 28, an official release said here today.

The committee will inquire into the details of the circumstances and causes leading to the death of the two students and will suggest suitable measures to avoid recurrence of such incidents in future.
 

It will submit its report within one month from the date of issue of the order, the release added.
