"An inquiry has found that Jaswant Singh used to make calls to policemen, advocates, besides his family members," Faridkot Jail Superintendent, Tejinder Singh, told reporters today.
A fresh case had been registered against the inmate, a resident of Deepsingh Wala village, he said.
The District and Sessions Judge, Faridkot, had asked Faridkot SSP to conduct the inquiry when a widow, Balwant Kaur, had alleged that the accused had been intimidating and pressurising her in some property case.
Police investigations later revealed that Singh allegedly had links with land grabbers in Moga, Ludhiana and Faridkot and used to transfer properties of widows and the aged after preparing fake documents.
The Jail Superintendent said the accused had made several phone calls to a police constable, an ASI rank cop, a woman constable and an advocate.
