Press Trust of India Hyderabad
City police today started an inquiry into the reports which alleged that a minor boy was chained in a police station.

Local news channels had aired a footage which showed that a boy was chained in his legs at Chandrayangutta station here after he was caught for alleged cell phone theft.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Mohammed Abdul Bari told PTI, "I am verifying this (allegation)...Whether it is a genuine footage or not. An inquiry is underway into the matter."

However, the Chandrayangutta Police denied the allegation, saying neither any boy was held by them nor anyone was chained.
