An inquiry has been ordered into alleged mismanagement of a central government-run educational home for girls in Krishna Nagar here.

"A deputy collector would probe the alleged irregularity and mismanagement in Mahila Samakhya Kendra run by the central government," District Magistrate Vishal Chauhan said today.

The centre is run for girls in the age group 7-14 who have dropped out of or never attended school.

The charges against the centre include mismanagement in serving food, inadequate accommodation, dictatorial attitude towards the inmates, among others.

The problems came to the fore when a member of Bal Kalyan Samiti, which oversees the running of the centre, made a surprise visit there yesterday.

"A parent has already lodged FIR against the centre's authorities," Pratibha said.
