A Haryana government appointed commission of inquiry has sought statements from the public along with any documentary evidence pertaining to the ongoing probe in the grant of licences to a private builder in Haryana's Rohtak during the previous Congress regime.
Earlier this year, the BJP government in the state had appointed R S Madan, a retired judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, to inquire into the grant of licences to Uddar Gagan Properties in sectors 27 and 28 over ten years ago.
An official spokesperson in a release today said the commission was appointed to inquire into and make recommendations to adjudge the bonafides of those responsible for the illegality in entertaining the applications for grant of licences and the subsequent release of land in the case.
The official said the people having knowledge of facts or those who wish to assist the commission should submit their statements, along with documentary evidence, supported by an affidavit in a format generally acceptable in a Court of Law.
"The statements along with documentary evidence and supportive evidence should be sent to the Secretary to the Commission of Inquiry, HUDA Field Office, Sector-6, Panchkula within 10 days from now, either in person or through Registered Post or Speed Post or courier service to with delivery receipt option, subject to any extension of time by the commission," the spokesman said.
