The anti-corruption bureau caught three persons including a police officer while accepting a bribe of Rs 2.5 lakh at Pathardi in Ahmednagar district last evening.
Those arrested were inpspector Subhash Laxman Anmulwar, attached to the Pathardi police station, vice president of Pathardi municipal council Vithal Borude and Balasaheb Balve.
Anmulwar had demanded Rs five lakh from the complainant for not arresting his sister and brother-in-law in a case of abduction. He later agreed to accept Rs 2.5 lakh, ACB said in a release today.
After setting a trap, ACB officers arrested him red-handed while accepting the money at the police station and handing it over to Borude and Balve.
