Institute, museum for research on Saraswati to come up in Har

A research institute and a museum would be established by the Centre in Haryana to carry out studies about the mythical River Saraswati.

A decision in this regard was taken when Union Culture and Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma met Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar at an event in Haryana, Tourism Ministry sources said.

The institute would be established as part of the 'Krishna Circuit' for which Rs 20 crore would be allocated through the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spirituality Augmentation Drive (PRASAD) scheme of the Union Tourism Ministry at Mugalwali village of Yamuna Nagar district in Haryana, a sources said.
 

The Ministry of Culture would assist in setting up the museum, the sources added.

The mythological Saraswati river has been linked to the Himalayan rivers like Yamuna in the east and Sutlej in the west.
