Insurance firm donates over Rs 42 lakh to U'khand flood

Public sector insurance firm United India today donated over Rs 42 lakh to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for the rehabilitation of people affected by the June deluge in Uttarakhand.

A United India Insurance Company Ltd (UIICL) delegation led by its General Manager M V V Chalam met Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Subhash Kumar and handed over a cheque of Rs 42.59 lakh to him for the relief and rehabilitation of those hit by the catastrophic flash floods in the state on June 16-17.

The donation amount has been raised by collecting one-day pay of company employees, an official release here said.
