The Advanced Systems Laboratory, DRDO, Hyderabad is organising the 6th International Symposium on Applied Aerodynamics and Design of Aerospace Vehicles (SAROD-2013) during November 21-23 here, and aims to arrive at a "roadmap" on futuristic hypersonic programmes.
SAROD is a biennial symposium organised to provide a common platform to share the experiences of aerodynamicists involved in aerospace vehicle design in the country as well as abroad.
The theme this year is "Advances in Aerospace Systems Design and Simulation with major thrust on Aerothermodynamics and Aeroacoustics", V G Sekaran, Distinguished Scientist, Director General (MSS), DRDO told reporters here.

"We have a organised a panel discussion on 23rd evening to consolidate whatever deliberations we would be having (22nd and 23rd) and to arrive at a kind of a roadmap for some of the futuristic hypersonic programmes in this country.
"That is going to be a big thing in the sense that hypersonic field in the aerodynamics design, aeronautical design, it does not come for nothing. It costs money, time and lots of efforts and many, many long years of working.
"We will be addressing certain issues related to the long-term hypersonic programmes in this country and hoping to get out of some roadmap for the near future," he said.
