Intense cold wave conditions continue unabated in HP

Intense cold wave conditions continued unabated in Himachal Pradesh today with temperatures in high-altitude areas staying between eight and 13 degrees below the freezing point, MeT officials said.

Minimum temperatures remained low in the state with Keylong recording a low of minus 7 degrees Celsius. Manali recorded minus 0.2 degrees Celsius and Kalpa zero degrees Celsius.

The mercury dropped to 1.6 degrees Celsius at Bhuntar and 2.6 degrees Celsius at Sundernagar. Solan recorded 3.4 degrees Celsius, Una and Palampur 5.4 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala and Shimla 6.8 degrees Celsius and Nahan 9.2 degrees Celsius.

Temperatures stayed above the normal in lower hills and Una recorded a high of 26.4 degrees Celsius, followed by Bhuntar 22.7 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar 21.6 degrees Celsius, Solan 19.4 degrees Celsius, Nahan 18.7 degrees Celsius and Dharamshala 17.2 degrees Celsius.
 

Shimla recorded 15.6 degrees Celsius, Manali 14.4 degrees Celsius, Kalpa 13.0 degrees Celsius and Keylong 7 degrees Celsius.

The local MeT office has predicted dry weather in the region for the next six days.
