Blistering heat wave today swept Haryana and Punjab with Chandigarh recording the season's hottest day so far.
UT Chandigarh, which was hit by a duststorm this evening, recorded 43.4 degree Celsius during the day, five notches more than normal.
Bhiwani was hotter by four notches than normal with a high of 45.2 degree Celsius while Hisar sweltered at 44.7 degree Celsius, also four degrees above normal, the MeT report said here.

While the maximum temperature in Ludhiana was recorded at 43.5 degree Celsius, up four notches, Patiala's maximum settled at 43.4 degrees, also four degrees above normal level.
The MeT has forecast dust storm/ thunderstorm accompanied with squall with wind speed exceeding 45 kmph may occur at isolated places in Haryana and Punjab over the next two days.
