Inter-state gang busted in Ludhiana

Police Monday claimed to have busted an inter-state gang allegedly involved in child trafficking with the arrest of five persons, including four women.

The gang was allegedly involved in child trafficking by alluring their parents with money, police said in a release.

The accused were identified as Labh Singh, Rachna, Randeep Kaur, Rajwant Kaur and Suman who were allegedly part of the gang.

They were nabbed from an area near Sherpur Chowk, Jagraon. An infant was also recovered from them, police said.

During detailed interrogation, it has come to light that they had sold children for money in various districts like Jalandhar, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana and also in nearby states like Haryana and Rajasthan.

 

Police said investigations were underway.
