Inter-state gang of burglars busted, 4 held

Police today claimed to have busted an inter-state gang of burglars who used to hop between metros in flights, stay in five star hotels and struck residences in posh colonies with the arrest of four persons in this connection.

Acting on a tip-off, Sohan Pal (38), the kingpin of the gang, along with his associates Pawan (26), Sabir Malik (31) and Abhishek (19) was arrested from near Radisson hotel in Vasant Kunj area of South Delhi on Monday, police said.

Stolen gold and diamond jewelry worth several crores of rupees were also recovered from their possession, they said.

"Sohan was involved in several incidents of burglaries and house thefts in Delhi and adjoining states," Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) P S Kushwah said.
 

With their arrest, 10 cases of thefts in Delhi, Gujarat and Mumbai have been solved, he said.

The gang has been active since 2010 and used to stay in five star hotels and travel by air to commit robberies, police said.
