With the arrest of four men, including a Bangladeshi national, Delhi Police today claimed to have busted an inter-state gang of dacoits which used to target godowns in Delhi, Meerut and Agra.

According to police, Sagar alias Jahangir (35), a resident of Bhagirath district of Bangladesh, is the kingpin of the gang. He along with his other accomplices Suhag alias Rustam (27), Ajibul khan alias Bullet (21) and Sakir Ali (21) were arrested by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police on March 4.

"During interrogation it was learnt that Sagar projected himself as book publisher and international businessman. He claimed to be in process of writing a book on girls between the age group of 16-20, for which he had even got pamphlets printed for distribution among college girls, asking their details like photographs and mobile numbers.

"This activity was undertaken with the ulterior motive of creating database and luring the girls in flesh trade," Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said.

The gang is involved in many cases of looting godowns on the outskirts of Delhi, NCR, Meerut and Agra, police said.

On March 4, an input was received that Sagar would come near Rithala Metro Station, Rohini along with his gang members to rob a godown. A trap was laid and the four were nabbed.
