Inter-state gang of extortionists busted

With the arrest of four persons, police today claimed to have busted an inter-state gang allegedly involved in an extortion case here.

Those arrested include the kingpin of the gang Anuj Tyagi and his accomplices- Randhir, Ankit Sharma and Arun Kumar, said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Deepak Kumar.

"They were demanding extortion money of Rs 30 lakh from a brick kiln owner identified as Anurag Kushal for past one week", said Kumar.

Police have arrested the accused and recovered two pistols, some cash and a Safari car from their possession, he said.

Tyagi, a history-sheeter, was involved in several cases of loot and murder in Haryana, Uttrakhand and part of Uttar Pradesh in the past, said Kumar.
 

A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
