Delhi Police today claimed to have busted a unique illegal gun running racket spread over UP, Bihar and MP where manufacturers of guns bartered their firearms from those who made cartridges and vice versa so that both the parties have complete "package".
Another dimension which surprised investigators was that the female operatives of the gang travelled with men of the racket as a couple to avoid suspicion.
The module was busted by the Special Cell of Delhi Police on February 23 when they got a tip-off that a couple would be arriving from Bihar at Anand Vihar ISBT for gun and cartridge peddling.

"Police recovered two sophisticated pistols and 900 Ordnance Factory made 7.65 mm cartridges concealed amongst their clothing," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav.
During interrogation of the duo, it has emerged that this inter-state syndicate is engaged in a new found activity and employs a novel modus operandi to execute its business.
The firearms manufactured in Munger, Bihar are traded for cartridges sourced from dubious sources by collectors based in Khargone and Khandwa areas of Madhya Pradesh.
"In effect, the peddlers from one end of the syndicate carry firearms with them which are delivered to peddlers coming from the other end of the syndicate which carry cartridges with them for delivery to the gun peddlers.
"The outcome of this syndicated activity is that both the parties come in the position of supplying complete package i.E. A pistol along with cartridges to the intending criminal for a high profit," said Yadav.
