Shares of InterGlobe Aviation and Piramal Enterprises surged by up to 5.55 per cent today as these companies would be included in the NSE's Nifty Next 50 index from September 30.
InterGlobe Aviation's scrip rose 3.19 per cent to close at Rs 826.40 on NSE. Intra-day, it surged 5.47 per cent to Rs 844.65.
Shares of Piramal Enterprises jumped 5.55 per cent to end at Rs 1,771.45. Intra-day, it gained 7.91 per cent to Rs 1,811 - its 52-week high.

Telecom player Reliance Communications and state-run Rural Electrification Corporation will move out from the NSE's Nifty Next 50 index from September 30.
In their place, InterGlobe Aviation, which runs low cost carrier IndiGo, and Piramal Enterprises would be included in the index.
RCOM shares fell 2.44 per cent to Rs 47.85, while Rural Electrification Corporation ended 0.77 per cent higher at Rs 228.20.
The changes, announced by India Index Services and Products Ltd (IISL) on Friday, an arm of National Stock Exchange, will be effective from September 30, 2016.
