Ruling out differences between BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and party veteran L K Advani, the party President Rajnath Singh today said the internal democracy within the BJP is its biggest strength.
"In India after Congress, Communist party of India (CPI) and BJP are the three old national political parties since Independence. Both the Congress and the Communist party have gone through vertical divisions three, four times in its political journey. But the BJP is the only party which has never gone through any vertical divisions during its political journey," Singh said at a press conference.
"In our party there is internal democracy. This internal democracy is the inherent strength of our party, that is why we never had any division," said Singh when asked to comment on the differences between Modi and Advani.
Singh's comments comes in the backdrop of recent events within the BJP, when Advani had expressed his displeasure over elevation of Modi as the party's prime ministerial candidate.
