"This is the first time that such a reunion is being held in the city, considered the heartland of the Anglo-Indian community," according to a spokesman of the Calcutta Anglo-Indian service society (CAISS).
He said that such reunion was last held at Perth in Australia in 2009-10.
"We have received confirmation of participation from 850 foreign delegates," spokesman added.
CAISS is an NGO run wholly for the betterment and uplift of the Anglo-Indian community, especially in Kolkata.
