: Keen on creating a clean and prosperous Puducherry, Lt Governor Kiran Bedi will inaugurate the 'International Coastal Clean up drive' tomorrow.

She would launch the drive on the seashore behind Mahatma Gandhi statue, synchronising with the observance of the 31st International Coastal Cleanup day.

Volunteers of various institutions, nongovernmental organisations, Indian Coast Guard and other institutions will participate in the drive, a release from the directorate of information and publicity said.

Bedi has been generally launching 'operation garbage programme' every Saturday and Sunday in and around Puducherry.

She had been keen about ensuring segregation of garbage at source and had joined with sanitary workers to remove it.

Bedi had launched the 'Shramdaan movement' some days back in Seliamedu village in Bahoor commune panchayat limits.
