International conference on climate change in Kerala capital

A three-day international conference on Climate Change and Disaster Management aiming to address related technical and policy matters would be held here from February 26.

The conference would bring together scientists and policy makers from all over the world and synthesise their opinions, Conference Organising Committee Chairman and former ISRO Chief G Madhavan Nair told reporters here today.

It is being co-organised by the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA), the International Institute of Space Law (IISL) and the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE).

This conference is the first in the series intended to consolidate and harmonise expert opinions in preparation for the organisation of an International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) Heads of Space Agencies Summit during September next in Mexico on Climate Change and Disaster Management, Nair said.
 

More than 100 experts from across the world were expected to attend the conference, he added.
