International Day of Non-Violence on Oct 2: Haryana govt

The Haryana government today said it has decided to celebrate International Day of Non Violence on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2.

While giving this information here today, an official spokesperson said that the state government had resolved to observe this day as International Day of Non-Violence.

Various programmes would be organised from October 1 to October 4, 2017.

He said that the programme would be organised in districts by involving youths.

On October 1, drama, street play and musical evening would be organised and on October 2, peace march and gathering at city centre, peace demonstration with placards etc would be organised, he said.
 

The spokesman said that on October 3, youth camp, conference, seminar on non-violence and peace in the contemporary world and clean city, green city drive would be organised.

On October 4, Khadi day, sale of literatures on non -violence, 'Swadeshi' of Gandhi and other world leaders, screening of films like Attenborogh's 'Gandhi', Al Gore's 'Inconvenient Truth' would be held, he added.
