International Festival of Buddhist Heritage begins

The second edition of the International Festival of Buddhist Heritage of Ladakh kick started here today.

The inaugural ceremony, held at Sindhu Sanskrit Kala Kendra, was attended by Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, who was the chief guest on the occasion.

Jora, Chairman/Chief executive Councillor of The Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Rigzin Spalber and other executive councillors, were present at the ceremony.

The Festival is organised by Mahabodhi International Mediation Center Leh in collaboration with Tourism of Jammu and Kashmir, LAHDC, Ladakh Buddhist Association and All Gonpa Association Leh.
 

The three-day festival will throw light on different aspects of Ladakhi Buddhists including folk dances, chants by renowned artistes, meditation and so on.
