International Yoga Day was today observed at the sports stadium here in which Deputy Chief Minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa along with other senior politicians and officials performed asanas.
Amalapuram MP Pandula Raveendra Babu, MLC Chikkala Ramachandra Rao, District Collector Kartikeya Misra, BJP district president Y Malkondaiah and a large number of students, sportspersons and officers of various departments performed various asanas.
Elaborate arrangements were made at the sports stadium by putting up LED screens for the convenience of general public.
Representatives from Art of Living, Patanjali group and Brahma Kumaris performed different asanas during the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Chinarajappa said yoga is part of our culture and doing it gives one good health and relieves the person of mental stress.
