A two-day international conference on development policy, leveraging investment, infrastructure and intellectual capital for economic development, will begin here from December 15.
The conference sponsored by UGC, is jointly organised by Avinashilingam University for Women, the Institute of finance Management, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chennai.
The main agenda of the conference is related to economic development of the nations as well as the prospects to strengthen the global relationship in terms of discovering investment prospects, developing infrastructure and exchange of knowledge, the university Vice-Chancellor, Premavathy Vijayan told reporters here today.

The deliberations would provide robust inputs on leveraging investment, infrastructure and intellectual capital and is expected to set right directions in generating solutions for global issues by creating a platform for the investors of both the countries to explore vibrant investment opportunities, she said.
Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu will inaugurate the conference in which Deputy High Commissioner of Tanzania, New Delhi, Mohamed H Mohamed will deliver key note address, while Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation Chairman and Managing Director, K Santhosh Babu will give a special address on "Governance and Economic Development," Premavathy said.
Nearly, 150 delegates, including academicians, researchers, policy makers and practitioners worldwide are expected to participate in the conference, which will have panel discussions by eminent personalities in the related fields, she said.
