INTTUC leader remanded in seven days' police custody

INTTUC leader Kedar Pal, who allegedly killed an electrical goods contractor of an ECL mine here, was today remanded in police custody by a court in Durgapur.

The ACJM, Durgapur, after hearing the plea of the police, remanded Pal, who is the unit secretary of the INTTUC- affiliated Colliery Kisan Shramik Committee, to seven days' police custody.

Police have lodged a case against Pal, a foreman in the ECL mine, under section 302 of IPC for killing Ashim Mukherjee, 40-year-old electrical goods contractor, in a fit of rage after a tiff.

After commiting the crime, Pal went to Ukhra police outpost and surrendered. The police later arrested him.
