"The national executive of INTUC will meet here on October 6 and 7. The meet will deliberate on various issues, including effects of globalisation on workers, issues concerning permanent and contractual workers and price rise among others," state unit INTUC President Jaiprakash Chhajed told reporters last night.
INTUC is the trade union wing of Indian National Congress.
Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan will inaugurate a plenary session, to be presided over by Union Labour Minister Mallikarjun Kharge, on October 7, he said, adding more than 1500 delegates are expected to attend the conclave.
Prominent among them are national INTUC president Dr Sanjeeva Reddy, AICC general secretary Oscar Fernandes and International Trade Union leader from Singapore Neriuki Sajuki.
