Proposals of four companies to invest a total of Rs 828 crore in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Pithampur in neighbouring Dhar district have been cleared, a senior official said today.
"Proposal of Alkem Laboratories, Rusan Pharma, Ajanta Pharma and Commercial Syn Bags to invest Rs 325 crore, Rs 75 crore, Rs 400 crore and Rs 28 crore, respectively, have been cleared by the approval committee of SEZ," said SEZ Assistant Development Commissioner Ravi Chhangani.
These companies would export goods worth 6,856 crore in five years and would generate 3,400 jobs, he said.
The SEZ has 50 units as of now.
