IOC petrol pumps in Gujarat to promote tourism

The petrol pumps run by Indian Oil Corp Ltd in Gujarat would soon be offering tourism-related information and facilities.

A memorandum of understanding was today signed by Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd (TCGL) and the oil major in this regard. TCGL was represented by its Managing Director Sanjay Kaul while IOC was represented by its Deputy General Manager -Retail Sales, Gujarat, Shajeev Kakkar.

TCGL will get space in the IOC premises and create basic amenities such as toilets, food courts, kiosks etc.

Such facilities will be made available every 100 km on the national highways and every 75 km on the state highways. Work is expected to begin in the next six months.
 

The tourist inflow in Gujarat increased by over 54 lakh in the last two years, according to the state government.
