Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) will be transporting fuel to Tripura from Meghalaya through Bangladesh and for this the state-owned PSU has signed a pact with the neighbouring country.

The MoU was signed between IOC and Roads and Highways Department of People's Republic of Bangladesh in Dhaka on Thursday, IOC stated on Friday.

The agreement would enable IOC transport petrol, diesel, kerosene and LPG from Meghalaya to Tripura via territory of Bangladesh in tank trucks by road as supplies had been hit due to the heavy rains and the dismal condition of NH 44, leading to the state from Assam.

These measures would ease the supply scenario in Tripura considerably, it added.
