The Gujarat Government revoked the suspension of IPS officer Rajkumar Pandian, an accused in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case, and reinstated him today.

Confirming the development, Gujarat's Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Home, G R Aloria said that Pandian has been reinstated as the a liasoning officer of the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC).

However, he has been given a posting in Mumbai, after he got bail from the Bombay High Court in March this year on the condition that he would not enter Gujarat.

"Rajkumar Pandian has been reinstated as Liasoning Officer of the GIDC in Mumbai," Aloria told PTI.

Earlier, the Gujarat government had reinstated Abhay Chudasama, who was also behind bars in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case and released on bail a few months ago.
