Senior IPS officer Amitabh Thakur and his social activist wife Nutan Thakur today sat on dharna before DGP office here demanding FIR against UP mining minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati for "trying to frame" them in false cases.
The duo alleged that FIR was not being registered against the minister, who framed them in false cases.
Nutan Thakur told reporters that soon after she moved an application against the minister before the Lokayukta alleging that illegal mining was going on at his behest, the couple got a threat to stay away from this case and later were implicated in two completely "false cases" of rape.

The couple alleged that though an application for FIR was given to SO Gomtinagar on June 10, to DIG Lucknow on June 11 and to DGP A K Jain on June 15 but it was not registered. This forced them to sit before DGP office to press for the demand.
