Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani Wednesday lauded the BJP government in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh for its various welfare policies for women empowerment.
Among other things, she referred to reservation for women in government jobs in the state.
She also noted that the government has taken several measures to expedite the hearing of cases of crime against women.
The road network in MP has improved significantly under the BJP rule, she claimed.
On opposition Congress's allegation that women are not safe in the state, Irani said, "If the Congress wants to do politics on this issue, it is their nature and it can not be changed.
"I have never politicised the issue of safety and honour of women," the minister said.
