Irani proposes training for unemployed youth in engng colgs

A proposal is under-consideration as per which all Engineering Institutions will be used to train unemployed youth in engineering skills after college hours, the Rajya Sabha was informed today.

In a written reply to a question in the Upper House, HRD minister Smriti Irani said, "It is proposed to use all Engineering institutions in the country to train unemployed youth in engineering skills after the college hours."

She added that a scheme in this regard is proposed to be implemented from 2016-17.

In a written reply to another question, Irani listed steps taken by CBSE to prevent irregularities in examinations.
 

She said candidates are not allowed to carry mobile phones or electronic devices and there is frisking at the time of entry.

Among other measures mentioned by her were - videography, recording biometric identification and Index finger printing on a specialised attendance sheet. She also mentioned provision of pens to the candidates by CBSE.
