Union textiles minister Smriti Irani today discussed with her counterpart in the agriculture ministry, Radha Mohan Singh, the measures to boost jute production in the country.
In the meeting here, it was decided that both agriculture and textiles ministries will sensitise jute farmers about certified seeds for cultivation and scale up implementation of 'Jute i-Care', a programme aimed at handholding the farmers to increase the supply of raw jute.
