Mohammed Dawood scored a hat-trick as Iraq broke Japan's unbeaten run with a 4-2 win to secure a place in the finals of the AFC U-16 Championship, here today.
Dawood gave Iraq the lead in the 18th minute before Hiroto Yamad scored twice in the 29th minute and 42nd minute to give Japan an upper hand at half time.
Trailing 1-2 in the second half, Iran survived a scare in the opening period after the break before Muntadher Abdulsada scored the equalised in the 66th minute here at the GMC Stadium.
Dawood then netted the ball twice from the penalty to complete his hat-trick and take his team to the finals, to be played on October 2 at Nehru Stadium, Fatorda.
