An Iraqi police officer says a bomb has ripped through a vegetable market in the town of Mahmoudiyah, killing six civilians and wounding 18 others. The town is located about 30 kilometres south of Baghdad.
Another police officer said another bombing, of a security patrol today, killed four soldiers and wounded three in the town of Khalis, about 80 kilometres north of Baghdad.
Two medical officials confirmed the causality figures. All officials spoke on condition of anonymity as they were not authorised to release information.
