Passengers travelling on Delhi Metro can now enjoy quality snacks and delicacies at reasonable rates with IRCTC opening its first set of food kiosks in the stations on green line this weekend.
Christened 'Food Track', these kiosks will offer light snacks like sandwich, samosa, burger, pizza, rolls to mini meals like rajma-chawal, chhole-chawal, kadi-chawal, etc.
The snacks will be served hot and packed, while mini meals will come served in microwave oven compatible sealed trays, an IRCTC official said.

The outlets will be opened at Paschim Vihar (East & West), Peera Garhi, Udyog Nagar and Surajmal Stadium stations.
The official said only branded company food items and cooked items meeting Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points accreditation with Food Safety and Standards Authority of India will be sold through the kiosks.
Indian Railway Catering and Tourism and Corporation (IRCTC) has already signed an MoU with DMRC to operate food joints at 130 Delhi Metro stations in the capital.
IRCTC, a Railway PSU, used to serve food on board trains till a few years back when the services were taken back by the Railways with the new Catering Policy. Since then, it has spread its wings running cafeteria and food courts in various government offices and educational institutes.
Some of the popular IRCTC food joints are in Shastri Bhawan, Udyog Bhawan, South Block, Writers' Building (Kolkata), IIM Indore, Delhi University etc.
It has entered into catering business with the corporate sector with its opening of an ultra-modern central kitchen at Noida where it produces around 10,000 meals a day which are served to various MNCs, BPOs, and educational institutes in and around the satellite city.
Central Kitchens are also being planned in Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, the official said.
