IRCTC, a PSU of Railways, is already involved in organising domestic tour packages in the country.
"There is a strong demand for outbound package so we have decided to launch a week long package for Dubai to begin with. Depending on the response there may be more such packages for other popular international destinations in future," said a senior IRCTC official.
Starting on August 21 from Bhopal, the Dubai package is estimated to cost Rs 44,270 per person for a tour duration of five nights and six days.
Known as the shopping capital of the Middle East and the "City of Gold", Dubai has always been a tourists attraction.
We have received a good response to our first international package as it got fully booked within days of its announcement, said the official.
Desert safari, Dhow cruise, city tour and visit to the world's tallest building Burj Khalifa are some of the main attractions of the package.
