Irked over power cuts, BJP thretens to hold officials hostage

Protesting against long power outages in Jammu region, the BJP today thretened that they will hold senior power and public health engineering officials hostage if the common public continued to get "harassed".

"We warn government to stop harassing Jammu people, failing which BJP activists will gherao senior officials of PDP and PHE and may even lock them in their offices," party's Legislative Assembly leader Ashok Khajuria said here.

He said while the Chief Minister and his colleagues are "enjoying a plesant stay" in Srinagar, people of Jammu region are forced to spend their nights without electricity.

"There is no electricity and drinking water in rural as well as urban Jammu. While 19 hour long cuts are imposed in most of the areas of Jammu region, the drinking water too is not available," Khajuria said.
