A woman employee of the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) has filed a complaint accusing a top official of the organsiation of harassing her sexually, the police said today.

Based on her complaint, the Anand town police lodged an FIR yesterday under sections 354(A) and 509 of the Indian Penal Code respectively for making sexually coloured remarks and using indecent words and gesture to insult woman's modesty, the police said.

In her complaint, the victim alleged that a top official, who was appointed at IRMA six months back, did not only pass lewd comments about her, but also tried to hug her.

She alleged the official passed indecent remarks even in the presence of other staff members on several occasions.

In the FIR, the woman has mentioned that the official also passed comments having sexual undertones about her attire and once also talked about pornography in front of her another colleague.

Despite raising this issue with the IRMA's internal committee, there was no positive action towards taking action against the high-ranking official, she alleged in her FIR.

"The victim told us that she was left with no other option than to approach the police as the internal committee did not give any positive response," said Anand Superintendent of Police, Saurabh Singh.

"We have taken her complaint yesterday and started the investigation," he said.

The attempts to contact IRMA officials proved futile.
