Tamil sports-drama "Irudhi Suttru" will be screened at the Tokyo International Film Festival, to be held next month.

The film, also released in Hindi as "Saala Khadoos", has been directed by Sudha Kongara and has popular actor Madhavan and newcomer Ritika Singh playing the lead roles.

Produced by Y Not Studios, the film will be featured in the World Focus Section of the prestigious 29th Tokyo International Film Festival on October 31 and November one, a press release said.

The movie marked Madhavan's comeback to Tamil cinema after three years. His last Tamil film before "Irudhi Suttru" was "Vettai".

The Tamil and Hindi versions were released early this year and received critical acclaim for its story of a boxer, who is rejected by the Association and goes on to train a female amateur fighter.
