ISI agent remanded to police custody

A city court today remanded arrested suspected ISI agent Zafar Khan to 12 days' police custody till November 29.

City Metropolitan Magistrate Sanjay Ranjan Paul granted the prosecution's plea of 12 days for Zafar, brother of Akhtar Khan, 51, who was arrested on Saturday for his alleged links to the Pakistani agency.

Zafar, like Akhtar, was booked under IPC sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), 121 (waging or attempting to wage war or abetting waging of war against the government of India), 121A (conspiracy to commit offences punishable by section 121), 122 (collecting arms etc with intention of waging war against the government of India), 489B (using as genuine forged or counterfeit currency notes or bank notes) and 489C (possession of forged or counterfeit currency notes or bank notes).
 

A city court had earlier remanded Akhtar in police custody for 14 days till November 29.

The Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata Police had yesterday arrested Zafar.
