ISO certification for Union water resources ministry's two

Two agencies of the Union water resources ministry have received ISO certification, an official statement said today.

The Central Water and Power Research Station (CWPRS), located in Pune in Maharashtra, has been awarded with ISO 9001:2015 certificate, while the Central Soil and Materials Research Station (CSMRS) has been given ISO 9001:2008 certificate.

According to the statement, the CWPRS has received the certificate for providing research and development, support and consultancy through specific and basic hydraulic research for projects related to water resources, power and coastal engineering.

It is the principal central agency for catering to the research and development needs of hydraulics and allied disciplines for evolving safe and economical designs of hydraulic structures involved in water resources projects, the statement said.
 

The CSMRS has received the ISO certificate for undertaking investigation, consultancy and research in areas of soil mechanics and foundation engineering, rock engineering, concrete technology and allied areas and knowledge sharing.

Located in the national capital, it is a premier organisation in field and laboratory investigations, and research in the areas of geotechnical engineering and civil engineering materials, particularly for construction of river valley projects and safety evaluation of existing dams.
