The Palestinian government has brought foreign diplomats to a school in the West Bank to highlight what it says is a renewed threat of demolition by Israel.

The school for Bedouin children has been slated for demolition and highlights the battle over 60 percent of the West Bank that remains under exclusive Israeli control, known as Area C.

Severe Israeli restrictions on Palestinian development in Area C, including a rise in demolitions of homes some of them EU-funded buildings have created diplomatic tensions.

The EU said last week that Israeli policies erode chances of establishing a Palestinian state in a peace deal. Israel says the EU needs to coordinate its aid projects.

Palestinian Education Minister Sabri Seidam urged diplomats today to "help in protecting the school.
