Israeli trekker injured in road mishap

A 53-year-old Israeli trekker, who was part of the country's trekking team in Uttarakhand, was badly injured today after his motorcycle slipped and fell about 20 metres down the road.

The accident occurred when a team of trekkers from Israel were on their way from Rishikesh to Jakholi, SSP Tehri NS Napalchyal said.

The bike slipped and fell 20 metres down the road leaving Irez Farber injured, he said.

He sustained serious injuries on his feet and hands, the SSP said.

Rest of his team members are returning to Baurari hospital where their colleague is currently admitted.
