Issue guidelines for tourists visiting sanctuaries: Raje

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today directed forest department officials to issue proper guidelines for tourists visiting national parks and sanctuaries in the state so that wild animals are not affected by their movement.

Reviewing the progress of budget announcements for Forest and Environment department here, Raje said proper guidelines should be issued for tourists at Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve so that their presence do not harm wild animals, an official release said here.

She also asked officials to secure sanctuaries and check any kind of encroachment.

Stressing on proper maintenance of plants, the chief minister said it should be monitored that how many plants remain alive after tree plantation on a large scale.
 

Additional Chief Secretary of Forest and Environment O P Meena gave a detailed presentation on the progress of the budget announcements of 2014-15 and 2015-16 and the work plan for the current financial year.

Minister of State for Forest and Environment Rajkumar Rinva, Principal Secretary for Finance P S Mehra, Secretary for Planning Akhil Arora and senior officials of the department were also present at the meeting.
