Information technology is essential for development, but it alone cannot lead to the path of progress unless the youth dream of making it big, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs RPN Singh said today.
"I agree that information technology is important for development, but it alone cannot do anything unless the youth dream of progressing," Singh said, during the closing function of a nation-wide debate organised in colleges by the Rajiv Gandhi study circle here.
People would have to stress on character building to progress, he emphasised.
The debate series on "Is information technology the only medium to development?", which began on July 17, culminated today after debates in about 40 colleges across the country in which about 10 thousand students participated.
