Veteran actor Jane Fonda has said that the reason Harvey Weinstein sexual assault scandal is getting so much attention is because most of his accusers are "famous and white".
Fonda had condemned the producer after allegations against him became public.
"It feels like something has shifted. It's too bad that it's probably because so many of the women that were assaulted by Harvey Weinstein are famous and white and everybody knows them. This has been going on a long time to black women and other women of colour and it doesn't get out quite the same," Fonda said during an appearance on "All In With Chris Hayes".

Weinstein has been accused of sexual misconduct, including rape and assault, by over 60 women and the scandal has led to many other women opening up about their experience in the industry, leading to the firing of several other powerful executives in Hollywood.
Celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie and Cara Delevingne and Lupita Nyong'o have come forward since the October 5 expose on Weinstein.
Steinem said Weinstein's behaviour had reached a tipping point.
"If you steal money, you probably get arrested and convicted, because everybody says stealing is wrong. But if you do something that is very sexist or racist, because there still is a critical mass of bias in this country, it takes more cumulative instances for it to be recognised. So we have reached a tipping point I think," she said.
